in their twenties - Swedish translation – Linguee

Possibly the most influential jurisprudent of the twentieth century, Hans Kelsen [1881-1973] was legal adviser to Austria's last emperor and its first republican government, the founder and permanent advisor of the Supreme Constitutional Court of Austria, and the author of Austria's Constitution, which was enacted in 1920, abolished during the Anschluss, and restored in 1945. Professor Kelsen introduced in these lectures a plan for a new world order, based on either or both a European Union and a United Nations, with a new body of international law. The Pure Theory of Law is generally considered among the most original contributions made by Hans Kelsen to legal theory. His book with that title was first published in 1934, and in a greatly expanded second edition (effectively a magnum opus doubled in length of presentation) in 1960. PRINCIPLES OF INTERNATIONAL LAW. In the wake of the First World War, the “new” international law in the era of the League of Nations was to be available to international politics as an effective instrument for securing the peace. 2009-06-01 2013-01-15 The very regulation of international law in the presence of asserted sovereign borders would present either a major barrier for Kelsen in the application of principles in international law, or represent areas where the mitigation of sovereignty could greatly facilitate the progress and effectiveness of international law in geopolitics. Kelsen (1881-1973) is still best known today for his “pure theory of law” (reine Rechtslehre ). 1 Distilled to its core claim, this theory holds that all of the valid rules of a legal system must be mutually consistent and, ultimately, derive their Law and Peace in International Relations [Kelsen, Hans] on Amazon.com.
